Michele has 25 years’ experience as an executive in manufacturing and sales of scientific capital equipment and analytical instruments. He knows start-ups from every side of the table: as a multi-decade angel investor; as an advisor and coach to technology startups; and as an entrepreneur with a big idea and a dream. He co-founded five high technology companies in the semiconductor, medical device, and energy sectors and is well acquainted with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, having worked as a consultant and mentor for start-up incubator and economic development agencies in both Pennsylvania and Ohio.
He has launched foreign products in the United States including mass spectrometers and imaging chemical microscopes, and American products abroad, including thin film deposition systems and surface analysis systems. His expertise is with worldwide clients ranging from academic-government research laboratories to companies in the medical device, semiconductor, superconductor, data storage, electro-optic, microscopy, and analytical chemistry industries. Michele has compiled a network of national and international experts in these sectors that may be brought in as needed to contribute to a project.
Michele has a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Rome (Italy), and M.A. and Ph. D. degrees in Physics from the University of Rochester.
